New Year Resolutions 새해 결심

Julie: Man I have managed to really pack on the pounds this silly season.
아휴~이번 연휴기간에 너무 살이 쪘어..

Jack: Well make it your New Year resolution to get healthy.
새해엔 건강을 위한 계획을 세워봐.

Julie: I don’t know. Every year I make it my resolution to stay healthy. I start out really well, eating right, going to the gym, but usually by mid Feb it seems to fizzle out.
모르겠어. 매년 그런 계획은 세우지. 잘 먹고 헬스장에도 가면서 시작은 잘 되는데 언제나 2월 중순쯤 되면 서서히 게을러 진단 말이야.

Jack: Well just make sure that you stick to it this year. Make an effort. Where there’s a will there’s a way!
올해는 반드시 성공할수 있도록 꼭 노력해봐, 뜻이 있는곳에 길이 있다고 하잖아

Julie: It’s easy for you to say. You’ve got the fastest metabolism in the world. You can eat whatever you want and not gain a pound.
말은쉽지, 너는 신진대사가 워낙 빨라서 먹고싶은거 다 먹어도 살이 잘 안찌잖아.

Jack: Yeah. Well my resolution is still going to be a tough one to keep.
응 그렇긴해, 하긴 내 신년계획도 조금 지키기 어려운거야.

Julie: What is it then?
그게 뭔데?

Jack: I’m giving up smoking. Now that is going to be a tough battle.
금연. 정말 치열한 싸움이 될것 같아.

Julie: Oh it’s all just mind over matter. You’ll beat it. I’ll be behind you one hundred percent.
음. 그건 마음 먹기에 달린것 같아. 그 중독성과 싸우게 되겠구나. 내가 꼭 도와줄께.

Going to be a tough battle : 치열한 전쟁 “ 말 그대로 전쟁처럼 싸워야하는 힘든일 을 뜻한다.
