At its opening event, a group of young elite and NZ champion riders showed how it’s done - taking turns to ride the new amateur track with a five-metre ramp and the pro track with its towering eight-metre ramp and berm jump.
Upper Harbour Local Board Chair Margaret Miles says it’s a great addition to the area’s growing sports precinct.
“It looks absolutely fantastic, and it’s situated perfectly for our youth next to the skate park and basketball court."
"New facilities for Harbour Hockey and Rosedale Pony Club are also coming shortly, so it’s an exciting time,” she says.
The opening event was attended by a numerous Auckland Council elected members, including Auckland Mayor Phil Goff who assisted with ribbon cutting duties.
