Councillors Richard Hills and Chris Darby are inviting North Shore residents to join them for conversations on Auckland Council’s upcoming Annual Budget consultation.
The two North Shore councillors will hold extra 'Conversations with your Councillor' sessions at North Shore libraries throughout the Annual Budget consultation period.
Consultation on the Annual Budget for 2019/2020 starts on 17 February and closes on 17 March 2019.
The consultation is an opportunity for Aucklanders to have their say on the council's proposed financial priorities for the coming year – as set out in year two of the 10-year Budget 2018-2028.
'Conversations with your Councillor' are informal sessions where community members are invited to bring their queries or concerns, or to just come along for a chat with their locally elected representatives. Bookings are not required.
Councillor Richard Hills says the sessions are a great way to provide and receive feedback from the North Shore community.
“I always enjoy the discussion and ideas that come out of our library sessions.”
“Face to face is a great way to hear first-hand from our residents what they care about and what they want to see in the future,” says Cr Hills.
“We also accept and appreciate ideas and feedback coming through to us via our social media and email channels too,” says Hills.
Councillor Darby says gaining local perspectives is vital to gaining the things that matter for shore residents.
“Local ideas, views and concerns are invaluable in helping shape the future of the Shore and the region,” says Cr Darby.
“I value a conversation on anything that matters to our residents and look forward to catching up with as many of them as I can over the coming month.”
