Opening times are changing for many Auckland Council services over the summer holidays.

Service centres and local board offices

All Auckland Council service centres and local board offices close at noon on Friday 21 December and reopen on Monday 7 January at normal business hours. 

24-hour service

Visit the Auckland Council website for information on all council services and facilities. If you can’t find the answer to your questions, our 24-hour call centre is open throughout the holiday period. Just call 09 301 0101.

Booking your holiday at one of our regional parks

Auckland Council service centres are closed, so we are only taking bookings via our online booking system where you can search, book and pay. Bookings cannot be taken over the phone, and payments are not accepted at our regional parks. Visit aucklandcouncil.govt.nz/holidayplaces to find out more.

Rubbish and recycling

Auckland Council will continue to collect your rubbish and recycling over the summer break, but there are some changes to collection days in December and January.

Collections will be one day later for the weeks starting Monday 24 December and Monday 31 December. Normal collections will resume on Monday 7 January 2019.

Pools and leisure centres

Visit Auckland Leisure or call 09 301 0101 for opening hours and information about holiday programmes.

Auckland Council libraries

All libraries with the exception of Botany Library, Great Barrier Island Library and Mobile Libraries will be closed on 25 December, 26 December, 1 January and 2 January.

Extended loans will apply to all borrowed items from 24 November to mid-January.
