Police have completed the scene examination at the two vehicle crash that occurred on the Riversdale Waikaia Road intersection with Two Chain Road, North of the Riversdale township.

 The road had been closed for approximately 4 hours while a scene examination was completed with serious crash investigation attending.

Pradeep EDIRISINGHE a 44 year old Sri Lankan who had been working on a dairy farm and living in the Riversdale community died at the scene. He was the sole occupant of the Nissan motor vehicle and had been travelling north on the Riversdale – Waikaia Road.

 The male driver and female passenger, both Italians aged in their 20's were traveling west in a Toyota Hiace van along Two Chain Road. The initial scene indications are the van has failed to stop at the stop controlled intersection and has struck the nissan motor vehicle.

 The Italian female and male driver were airlifted to the otago hospital , the female having serious injuries.  The driver of the van is being spoken to as part of the investigation into the crash.
