Two new bus services coming to Rodney.
Two new bus services funded by the Rodney Targeted Transport Rate are being designed with the intention to be up and running by February next year.
The Wellsford-Warkworth and Helensville-Silverdale bus services are included in the first package of targeted rate projects, which will include new services and Park and Ride facilities at Warkworth and Huapai-Kumeū.
Rodney Local Board deputy chair Phelan Pirrie says these bus services were not prioritised or budgeted for in the Regional Land Transport Plan, but have long been requested by members of the community.
“The local board has asked Auckland Transport to design and develop the first two routes and find an operator in a relatively short space of time.
“We look forward to sharing the finer details of the service such as the location of stops and frequency with our community over coming months.”
