Office closures over the Christmas and New Year period
Please refer to our individual office pages for opening hours.
Online applications
Online applications can still be submitted over the holiday period. However, an application allocated to an office that is closed will not be processed until after that office reopens. Automatic reminders for people who made online applications to send their passports will not be sent until after 11 January 2016. Check whether you need to send a passport and where to send it.
Paper-based applications
Paper-based applications will only be received on days when offices are open (applications sent via mailbox or courier will not be delivered outside of office hours). People submitting paper-based applications offshore should also check the opening hours of individual Visa Application Centres.
Applications already accepted for processing
Processing on applications that have already been accepted prior to the holiday period will continue once offices reopen.
Emergencies
In emergencies, applicants should call the Immigration Contact Centre, which will continue to be available during the holiday period.
