정부는 고용주가 숙련된 인력을 유지하고 뉴질랜드의 장기적인 경제 성장을 지원하기 위해 Skilled Migrant Category(SMC) 영주권 제도의 변경 사항을 발표했습니다.

새로운 영주권 경로
2026년 8월부터 SMC 하에 두 가지 새로운 영주권 경로가 도입됩니다

Skilled Work Experience Pathway
ANZSCO 기술 수준 1~3 직종에서 근무하는 이민자를 위한 경로입니다.
직접적으로 관련된 경력이 최소 5년 이상 필요하며, 이 중 뉴질랜드에서의 경력 5년이 포함되어야 하고, 최소 중위임금의 1.2배 (Amber List에 포함시) 이상의 급여를 받아야 합니다.

Trades and Technician Pathway
지정된 기술직 또는 테크니션 직종에 종사하는 이민자를 위한 경로입니다.
최소 120 크레딧 이상의 Level 4 이상의 자격을 보유해야 합니다.
자격 취득 이후 관련 경력이 최소 4년 이상 필요하며, 이 중 뉴질랜드에서의 경력 18개월이 포함되어야 하고, 중위임금 이상으로 급여를 받아야 합니다.

모든 신청자는 건강, 신원, 영어 능력 등 일반적인 영주권 요건도 충족해야 합니다.

실무 기술 인정 강화
새로운 경로는 실무 기술의 가치와 이민자들이 뉴질랜드 노동시장에 기여하는 부분을 더 잘 반영합니다. 일부 직종은 추가 자격 요건(Amber List)이 적용되며, 일부 직종은 제외(Red List)되어 제도의 대상이 보다 명확하게 유지됩니다.

뉴질랜드 학위 점수 증가
뉴질랜드에서 취득한 대학 수준의 학위, 특히 석사 및 박사 학위에 대해 더 많은 점수가 부여됩니다. 이 변경은 국제 교육 성장 계획을 지원하고 유학생들이 뉴질랜드에서 공부하도록 장려하기 위한 것입니다. 대학원 수준의 점수를 신청하는 경우 학사 학위도 반드시 보유해야 합니다.

뉴질랜드 경력 요구 감소
대부분의 경로에서 요구되는 뉴질랜드 경력 기간이 기존 최대 3년에서 2년으로 줄어듭니다. 이는 뉴질랜드가 숙련 인력을 유치하는 데 있어 경쟁력을 높이기 위한 것입니다.

급여 평가 방식 단순화
이민자는 영주권 신청 시점에 더 높은 급여 기준을 다시 충족할 필요가 없습니다. 대신 뉴질랜드 근무 경력 기간 동안 해당 급여 기준을 지속적으로 유지하면 됩니다.

Trades and Technician Pathway
지정된 기술직/테크니션 직종(ANZSCO 1~3)에 종사해야 하며, Level 4 이상의 자격(최소 120 크레딧)을 보유해야 하고, 관련 경력 4년 이상(그 중 NZ 18개월 포함, 중위임금 이상 급여)이 필요합니다.
• 지정된 ANZSCO skill level 1~3의 기술직 및 테크니션 직종에 종사하는 사람
• 관련 Level 4 이상의 자격을 보유하고 있는 사람
• 자격 취득 이후 최소 4년의 직접 관련 경력이 있으며 그 중 최소 1.5년은 뉴질랜드에서 SMC 중위임금 이상을 받으며 근무한 경험
