Languages International is formally incorporated. Small classes are started in our first house in Princes Street (described by a European retailer as ‘one of the most beautiful language school locations in the world’).

Chris Woolcott is the first New Zealand school principal to visit Japan to promote New Zealand as a destination for individual study. During the eighties, Chris and Frances Woolcott spearhead the marketing of New Zealand education in Europe, North Asia, South-East Asia, Central and South America, and the French Pacific.

Languages International is in the heart of Auckland City, close to downtown shopping, entertainment and transport. The school’s setting is unique: its historic premises are surrounded by the trees and gardens of Albert Park. Just across the road from the school is the University of Auckland, a convenient place for our students to buy lunch, look through the bookshop or pay for transport passes.

IELTS preparation at Languages International is available as a full-time course or as part of a full-time course with English for University, General English or English for Business. If you are planning to go on to further study in New Zealand after your English course, we strongly recommend our English for University course combined with IELTS preparation.
The IELTS (International English Language Testing System) test is a test of English language ability with two main purposes: firstly, it is a test for people who wish to study at university, polytech or other tertiary institutions in New Zealand, Australia or the United Kingdom; secondly, it is one of the requirements for immigration to New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom. IELTS is the examination that is preferred in New Zealand to show English language proficiency for study purposes.
There are a number of IELTS test centres where you can sit the test in Auckland. There are exam sessions every two to four weeks in these centres. We can help you to find a centre and apply to sit the test after you start your Languages International course.

We offer you three options for OET test preparation:
OET Intensive course face to face in Auckland, New Zealand
One-to-one OET tutorials
OET Online Writing Feedback
OET Intensive course in Auckland face to face – 4 days a week:
A 3 week, 24 hour course taught on Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday for 2 hours per day in the afternoon or early evening, in Auckland city centre.
Weekly, timed, in-class tests with individualised feedback.
We still develop the key language skills needed to perform well in OET, and to focus on how to approach the OET sub-tests themselves.
OET Intensive is aimed at candidates who need to improve their performance in all 4 OET sub-tests.
The course costs $640 plus a $50 registration fee, payable on your first enrolment only.
The classes are also a great way to meet other people who are preparing for OET – it is always better to prepare for a test with other people so that you can encourage each other and share resources and tips.
Please enrol here to confirm your place on the course. We have a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 12 people per course.

The Cambridge CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) is the most widely-recognized international qualification in English language teaching to adults. It is considered an initial qualification in this field, and the course leading to it is designed for people without previous teaching experience, as well as those who have had experience but could benefit from formal training. A Cambridge CELTA from Languages International will give you the knowledge, skills, and hands-on experience to become a successful English language teacher to adults, both in New Zealand and overseas. Languages International offers the Cambridge CELTA at our school in Central Auckland, New Zealand, or 100% online.
Why take CELTA with Languages International?

CELTA is an introductory course for applicants with little or no experience of teaching English to speakers of other languages. Sometimes candidates have some experience but little formal ELT training. All applicants must:

▶ 코스 내용과 시험 Course Content & Assessment
- 학교 대면수업이나 온러인 수업 모두 실질적이며 교습을 관찰하는 세션으로 구성됩니다.
- 4번의 쓰기 시험이 코스 중 실시되며 기말시험은 없습니다.
- 교습연습이나 쓰기시험은 코스 중 계속 됩니다.
- 지원자의 외부 코스워크는 캠브리지에서 인정한 시험관에 의해 진행됩니다.
- 대면수업이나 온라인 수업 수료 시 마지막으로 캠브리지수료증이 발급됩니다.
Both the on-site and online courses are highly practical, placing a considerable emphasis on candidates’ performance in observed teaching practice sessions. Candidates are also required to complete four short written assignments over the course. Please note that there is no final exam for this course; all assessment takes place within the course dates.
All aspects of the course (teaching practice and written assignments) are internally and continuously assessed. Candidates’ course work is also externally moderated by an assessor who is approved and appointed by Cambridge. The final certificate, which is identical for the on-site and online variants of the course, is issued by Cambridge.
