St George의 생활영어- Rugby World Cup Dialogue – opening celebrations

Joan: Hey Max, are you coming to the World Cup opening party tonight?
Max: I wouldn’t miss it for the world! I’m going with Joe and a few of his flatties.
Joan: Yeah, I was thinking about heading over after work. Mind if I tag along with you?
Max: No worries. The more the merrier. We’ll swing by at about 4 pm and pick you up if you like, it’s on the way to the waterfront anyway.
Joan: Thank you! I heard there will be a huge fireworks display.
Max: Yes, and some other classic Kiwi events such as a performance by the Finn Brothers and a gigantic carved waka down at the viaduct. You’ll love it.
Joan: That sounds amazing. What about the opening ceremony at Eden Park, though? If we are at the party in town, we’ll miss the opening ceremony on TV!
Max: It’s OK, they have set up these huge screens all along the waterfront, so we won’t miss a second of it.
Joan: Have you seen the new stadium? It looks very futuristic from the outside.
Max: No I haven’t, but I have tickets for a game so I will get a chance to see it for real.
Joan: Really, which match are you going to see?
Joan:
Max: Australia versus Ireland.
Max:
Joan: Wow, that should be good. The tickets must have cost a bomb, did they?
Joan:
Max: They are “category D” tickets, so they were actually quite reasonable.
Max:
Joan: That’s so exciting. Anyway, I’ll see you tonight. I can’t wait!
