St Georged의 생활영어 - ACC

ACC

Will fell of his bike and sprained his ankle. He is at the doctor having the injury checked out, and the doctor wants him to go and have an X-ray, which will be covered by ACC.

Receptionist: Please fill in this form, and Doctor Scott will be with you shortly.

Dr. Scott: Good afternoon, what seems to be the problem?
Dr. Scott:

Will: I’ve hurt my ankle quite badly, and it’s very swollen.

Dr. Scott: Roll up your trouser-leg and I’ll take a look. Oh that looks nasty, how did it happen?

Will: I skidded on the curb and fell off my bike.

Dr. Scott: Are you able to put any weight on it?
Dr. Scott:

Will: I can only put a tiny bit of weight on it, so I have to hobble.

Dr. Scott: It looks like a bad sprain to me, but I’d like you to get an X-ray just in case it’s broken. I don’t think it is, but it’s important to rule it out. Here is the address of the radiographer.

Will: Will that be expensive?

Dr. Scott: Well since it was an accident it will be covered by ACC, so it’s much cheaper.

Will: But I’m a student. Am I covered by ACC?

Dr. Scott: Yes. You will need to take it easy for a while, while you rest your leg. You should take the next few days off school.

Will: But if I take the week off, my attendance will be bad!

Dr. Scott: That’s OK Will, I’ll write you a medical certificate. When ACC have assessed you case, they will get back to you directly. Now, don’t forget to take it easy, and no more sports either!
