Yuri : Hi, I would like to go to Mt Albert please. Is this the right to catch?
유리 : 안녕하세요. 저는 마운트알버트에 가려고 하는데요. 이 버스가 그곳에 가나요?
Bus driver : It depends. Which part of Mt Albert are you heading to?
버스 운전사 : 글쎄요..어디를 가냐에 따라 다릅니다. 마운트알버트의 어느 지역을 가려고 합니까?
Yuri : I’m not sure. I’m going to my friend’s house and I’ve never been there before.
It’s on Lloyd Avenue.
유리 : 잘 모르겠어요. 전 친구네 집에 가려고 하는데요 전에 한번도 가본적이 없어서요.Lloyd Avenue입니다.
Bus driver : OK, just hop off at the Mt Albert shops. Lloyd Ave is one block from Mt Albert Road.
버스 운전사 : 아하 알겠습니다. 마운트알버트 쇼핑몰에서 하차하시면 됩니다. Lloyd Ave는 마운트알버트 로드에서 한 블록 떨어져 있습니다.
Yuri : How many stages is that?
유리 : 몇 스테이지죠?
Bus driver : It’s 3 stages to the Mt Albert shops, but only 2 stages if you jump off at the Kitenui Ave intersection, just before the lights.
버스 운전사 : 알버트 쇼핑몰까지 3 스테이지 입니다. 하지만 신호등 바로 전,Kitenui Ave 교차로에서 내리시면 2스테이지 입니다.
Yuri : O.K
유리 : 네,알겠습니다.
Bus driver : So, what’ll it be?
버스 운전사 : 그럼 어떻게 하시겠습니까?
Yuri : 2 stages please.
유리 : 2 스테이지까지 가겠습니다.
Bus driver : That’s $3.20,thanks.
버스 운전사 : $3.20입니다.감사합니다.
Yuri : Will you please tell me where to get off for Kitenui intersection?
유리 : Kitenui 교차로가 어딘지 말씀해 주시겠어요?
Bus driver : Sure
버스 운전사 : 물론입니다.
Yuri : Thank you!
유리 : 감사합니다.
Glossary
“it depends” – a colloquial/informal expression. It means that the answer can’t be known until you have some more information.
구어체/회화체에서 쓰는 표현.더 많은 정보를 줄때까지 정확한 대답을 할수가 없다는 뜻.
heading – if you are heading somewhere, you are going/traveling to that place. E.g. “I’m heading home” means “I’m going home”. Also, if you are “heading off” it means “you’re leaving”.
떠나다,출발하다.
block – the area surrounded by, but not divided by streets. The stretch of houses or shops, that lies between two streets.

Hop off/jump off – get off
내리다,하차하다.
lights – short for “traffic lights”
신호등의 축약형
